Expo Center to Host State Bantam A Hockey Tournament

The Expo Center in Ft. Pierre will be the site of this year’s SDAHA Bantam A State Hockey tournament beginning on Friday.  The SDAHA Bantam division is for players 14-15 years of age.  Scheduled first round matchups based on final league standings are:

12:00 #4 Rushmore vs. #5 Oahe

2:30 #3 Sioux Falls West vs. #6 Watertown

5:00 #2 Sioux Falls East vs. #7 Mitchell

7:30 #1 Brookings vs. #8 Yankton

Play in the single elimination tournament will continue throughout the weekend, with the championship game scheduled 3:30 on Sunday afternoon.

It should be a very exciting tournament with Brookings and the two Sioux Falls teams all finishing within three points of each other at the top of the league standings.  The hometown Capitals finished the regular season with a record of 7-6 and one overtime loss.  They will face Rushmore in the first round in what should be a competitive contest as the two teams split a weekend pair of games in Rapid City early in the season.
